"I love you girl" - XLR8
August 14, 2010Finally!!!
Here comes the surprise center of the Philippine pop’s hearth rubs.Though, it still has that aura of Kpop bands (specially of Suju), nobody can deny that XLR8 is using their charisma and talent wise enough to be the front up of the so called p-pop.
With the constant attack to the group by Anti-ppop’ers, XLR8 keeps gaining attention and supporters from inside and outside the country. Some even claims that they are not Filipinos and that they are anticipating this group will be an international phenomenon too just like the groups in Kpop.
I actually think that they they’re going to make MV for “Anyway” or “MIss Beautiful”
Concerns about the MV “I love you girl“:
1. The Black Jazz aura is a very smart move!!! The director did a good job. I strongly believe that this MV will XLR8 swiftly to the top of the chart.
2. The Choreo*: fantastic!!! especially the last part; though, the solo part of the magno twins has just becoming the identity of this band.
3. Clothes: They all look like great!!! (That means if I am an owner of a brand of mens wear I would love to have these boys in my poster)
4. Music: I’m not really in the position to criticize the music but I can say it sounds catchy and the lyrics doesn’t really flaunt (meaning it’s not really that bad, but it is also not award-winning).
5. Hideaki really looks way different than that of the side kick of Kuya Germs. I am so proud of him.
Caleb and Adrian** just look hot!!! Arkin, Carlo and Francis are people I’d love to see in the cover a magazine.
***I hope to see these guys in the plane to other part of the world for a show***
Oh No! Secret is also taken by the Dark Side!!!

[also posted in my tumblr account]
Wow! Secret never really fails to amaze fans by their lively music that seems like they never want to stop. Just as 2ne1 is lying low with music making, they make the best substitute.
Recently, Secret releases their new MV entitled “Madonna” written by Kang Ji Won and Kim Ki Bumallkpop.com).
With the addictive catchy tunes, the girls are showcasing their impressive choreography through the MV - allkpop.com
I wonder now how the fans will react if Secret sings something slower, a ballad for example.
Hugs, kisses, and Good luck for Riversyd!
August 9, 2010Wow!This Ppop group is one hot co-ed group! They remind me of Dice & K9 during the “Itsumo” days. After the enormous number of protest against Ppop, they might be put to silence by this group.
Riversyd, preparing to debut, says that their group is about “loving your own culture, empowering the marginal, and embracing change.”
According to Popsicles.ph Riversyd…started with a project of Kamaru Productions and aims to “give Pinoy Pop Music a whole new twist — keeping up with the global trends in popular music while channeling the sounds and visuals that make us distinctly Filipinos.”
Furthermore, the group is composed of 2 girls from Pampanga and 3 boys from Tarlac, namely Racko (Rock-O), Jhoan (Jo), AJ (Aer), Ghette (Jet) and [I just love how they come up with this name!!!]Ryan (Ryde).
and there are rumors that more members will be added to the group. (I just hope they won’t be like the other kpop group who admits members and kicks out every single released…because sometimes it frustrates the fans and that is not really the culture in Philippine Pop…just look at the legendary bands who are still staying intact and original…anyway…)
What I love about this upcoming group are:
1. knowing that they are independently produced by Kamaru Production (thanks to Paul Laxamana [his name suddenly marked in my mid]
2. There seems to be young members that really adds up the juice
3. And what refines the flavor best is the lyrics and style!!! I’m sure Francis M. will be very proud.
4. They seem to have the moves that any pop expects…however, we might be looking for a harcore.
5. They are TRULY ORIGINAL!!!!
***I have this commitment that I will not but pirated CDs who are produced or with involvement of FIlipinos, however there are instances (where there are singers that irritate me so much, I bought several pirated CDs of their album and just throw it away…as a protest…:)) <evil>
***But, I will certainly buy the CD of this group, IF they met my expectations. Though, I encourage fellow music lovers to advocate our own talents.
We’ll be watching…RIVERSYD!
Pop Girls is back!
August 4, 2010After the success of their debut single and MV, the darlings of the P-pop world is back with a new single “Sige Sayaw!” (translation below) released last 20th of July. There is no doubt that they improved in terms of the outlook; however the effect of the vast speculation in their debut by anti-ppop critics still lure but most of them think that Pop Girls has the edge to reach international acclaim only if they assume an identity distinctively from other pop culture (particularly kpop).
“Sige” — Fil. equivalent to the english word “alright” used as an expression of agreement. It is usually repeated to emphasize continuation of the action so the translation might be “Go” or “Going” or “Go on” are also acceptable. // “Sayaw” –Fil. n. Dance. (present rootword), Danced (past nagsayaw) Dancing (present nagsasayaw), dance (imperative). // “Sige Sayaw” means “Go! Dance!” or simply “Dance!”
Is that Toni Gonzaga?
Surprised to see Toni Gonzaga singing [for real] in ASAP last Sunday.
The 26-year-old actress, host, model and now recording artist started her singing carreer during the “We bleong Together” as a theme song for the Philippine premier of the Korean drama “You complete me” aired in the Philippines last 2006. However, her voice has been the big topic of speculation among critics who would claim that Toni can’t sing live.
It was posted in popsicles.ph that the latest MV of Toni Gonzaga entitle “Can’t help myself”
In the long run, her voice improved singing several Ballads in both FIlipino and English that hit the chart from time to time… this probably would make people change their outlook about her saying Toni Gonzaga, the singer.
